Course Description

It’s time to explore what’s possible when you’re diving!

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is about exploration, excitement and experiences. You don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification.

The course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You try out different specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun scuba diving.

Get credit! Each Adventure Dive may be credited toward the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver Course. If you’ve already taken a specialty diver course, ask your instructor if you’ve earned credit for an Adventure Dive.

What do I need?

We suggest divers completing the Advanced Open Water Course – or any other continuing education programs – have their own scuba gear, but rentals are available. You’ll also need…

  • PADI Adventures in Diving E-learning Online Code (we will send to you at signup)
  • Compass
  • Signaling Device (surface and underwater)
  • Timing Device (a computer will suffice)
  • Slate
  • Other possible accessories dependent upon the Adventure dives you choose.

Class Schedule

The Advanced Open Water course is held over three days, usually on a Thursday evening and about five hours daily on Saturday and Sunday.

Student Testimonials

I’ve done all my training and testing with the Aquaventure teams. They have great instructors and a fun atmosphere, all very knowledgeable, and they work hard to make your diving experience worth remembering. If you ever thought about experiencing scuba diving, I would highly recommend starting here!

My 11-year-old son and I took the PADI Open Water Diver class through Aquaventure, and we could not be happier with the experience. Erik did a fantastic job educating and coaching us through the entire process.

Both of my teens have achieved their Open Water certifications now with training from their excellent instructors and dive masters. As a 27-year diver, I wholeheartedly trust Aquaventure to provide quality training and service!
