Fun Dive Crosby – July 30

July 30, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

July, 30th

Crosby Fun Dive

  • Cost $20

There are many pits to dive in the Cuyuna Lakes area. Visibility in the lake averages 30-40 feet during the summer months. Water temperatures run from approximately 70 degrees surface temperatures to 40 degrees below the thermocline.  During the summer months, the thermocline depth varies, averaging around 30 feet. Divers who venture to greater depths will encounter a second thermocline at approximately 60 feet where the temperature drops to a chilly 34 degrees. Use of a quality dry suit (with proper training) is recommended for deep diving in the lake.

Novice divers will enjoy the gradually descending roadways, which are found throughout the quarries. Divers may encounter several types of fish as well as platforms used by instructors for training new divers. There are also many points of interests that have been created by other dives for your enjoyment and as artificial homes for the underwater wildlife!!  You will possibly see bluegills, perch, suckers, catfish, northerns, turtles, large & small mouth bass, and if you are lucky…a diving loon!

Meeting Point and Time: Your leaders will meet you at 11:00am in the Crosby Park next to the large serpent statue located off the shoreline of Serpent Lake.  You can’t miss it!

Accessibility: Easy to moderate

Camping and Hotel Options:  Your fun dive leaders will be camping at the True North campsites.  If you plan to spend the night, please procure your own arrangements.  Some options:
