Sri Lanka has maritime borders with India to the northwest and the Maldives to the southwest. Its documented history spans 3,000 years. Your visit will include some of Sri Lankas ancient World Heritage Sites including the ancient city of Anuradhapura home of Sigiriya Rock Palace known as the “Eighth Wonder of the World”.

Tours include daily jeep safaris with private guide to Wilpattu and Minneriya National Parks and entrance fees to both. All transportation is in an air-conditioned coach/minibus or car with private driver. All excursions include a private local guide. Below’s just a sample of what we’ll be doing.

Wilpattu National Park

After check-in and lunch, guests are taken on an afternoon safari into Wilpattu National Park around 2:30 pm to experience big game viewing of the parks with potential to see leopards, elephants, bears, buffalos, deer, crocodiles, jackals and many other animals and birds in their natural, jungle habitat and then back to the Safari Lodge for dinner at night fall.

All private luxury chalet tents are air-conditioned, have memory foam mattresses, private bathrooms with a bathtub/shower, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, robes, and a safe to lock your valuables. The lodge has plenty of hot and cold water with very good water pressure. Meals are included with breakfast (cooked to order), picnic lunches and an elegant dinner with table side service. Beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are complimentary while staying at the lodge. Linens are changed daily(upon request)and fresh towels are placed in each chalets needed.

Sigiriya Rock Palace and Minneriya National Park
After breakfast, guests will leave the lodge at 7:00 am and travel to the 5th Century AD Sigiriya Rock Palace. The palace and fortress complex takes several hours to climb from the bottom to the top.

After lunch at a local restaurant, guests are taken on an afternoon safari from 2:30 pm into Minneriya National Park. It is home to the largest known Asian elephant gathering on Earth. Guests relax and watch as these huge animals drink, play and snack on the green, lush grasses that have been exposed by the receding water. Dinner follows at the Safari Lodge.

“Monkey Kingdom” Primate Center

After an early breakfast guests will leave the hotel at 5:30 am and head to Sri Lanka’s Primate Center for a Sri Lankan monkey excursion. Established over 50 years ago, the Primate Center is where Disney Studios filmed the movie “Monkey Kingdom”. It is home to three species of Sri Lankan monkeys, the Toque macaque, the gray langur and the purple faced langur. While visiting the monkeys in their natural jungle communities, visitors can observe their complex social interactions. Guests can observe behaviors including nurturing young, courtship, cooperation, and teamwork as well as dominance and aggression as the monkeys go about their day.

After the Monkey Kingdom tour the guests return to the Aggressor Safari Lodge for lunch and have the afternoon free to relax on the grounds or lounge at the lodge swimming pool.
